Fire crews responded overnight to a house fire in Cape Coral, which resulted in a person being airlifted to the hospital. The Cape Coral Fire Department shared images of the scene on their Facebook page.

The fire occurred Saturday evening at a home near Southwest 5th Place, just off Gleason Parkway, close to a Walmart. The department also posted a photo indicating that several animals were inside the home during the fire.

Crews successfully rescued a dog, a cat, and a kitten. However, other animals ran away from the scene, and authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for them. Anyone with information is urged to contact Lee County Domestic Animal Services.

Our team is actively working to gather more details about the cause of the fire and the condition of the person who was airlifted to the hospital.
