The Cape Coral fire department is investigating a house fire along Southeast 5th place.They responded just after 7 p.m. on Saturday. Firefighters found and rescued one person from inside the home. In a coordinated effort with Lee County EMS and LeeFlight, she was airlifted. Firefighters also removed a dog, a cat, and a kitten from the home. Additional cats and kittens were found in a structure outside the residence. Some of these, along with the dog and cat found inside, were scared and ran away.
