TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Tallahassee Fire Department is mourning the loss of Engineer Charles “Chuck” Droessler, a veteran firefighter who served the community for nearly 11 years.
The department announced Droessler’s death Monday in a social media post, remembering him for his dedication, courage and commitment to serving others.
According to a Tallahassee Fire Department spokesman, Droessler died following a medical emergency. His death was not in the line of duty.
Members of the Tallahassee Professional Firefighters union also shared their condolences.
“He was more than a firefighter,” union president JP Colin wrote in a statement. “He was a brother, a friend, and a dedicated public servant who gave his all to our department and our community.”
The union asked the community to keep Droessler’s family, friends and fellow firefighters in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
