TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A weak cold front is approaching North Florida and South Georgia this morning and will bring a slightly higher chance for showers this afternoon.
A few showers this afternoon
As you are heading out the door this morning, temperatures are in the low 40s and upper 30s, so the jacket will be a necessity once again. For any morning plans like grocery shopping or church, you will not have to battle any rain, just the chill.
A few showers are possible this afternoon. Most will not see rain today.(WCTV)
Clouds will increase throughout the day, that will likely help to keep highs below average in the low 70s. Showers will be possible after 2 p.m. for mainly the eastern Big Bend. If you are in Monticello, Madison, Quitman, Valdosta, Perry, Live Oak, Mayo or communities in between, you have the best chance for showers.

The further north and west you live, the lower your rain chance. Showers should be done by 8 p.m. with clouds decreasing through the overnight. Lows will fall into the low 40s.
No drought relief next week
As you head to school and work Monday it will be a chilly start to the day with the thermometers reading low 40s. A nice afternoon with sunny skies and temperatures reaching the upper 60s and low 70s.
The drought monitor from Thursday continues to show an extreme drought across the area. Conditions are likely to reach Exceptional next week, which is the worst category.(WCTV)
Not great news for farmers heading into a new week. Rain chances stay at zero through the workweek as high pressure builds in. Temperatures will climb near to slightly above average near 80. So cool mornings and warm afternoons are the story this week. This weather setup will, no doubt, worsen the drought across the area. Rain chances stay low into next weekend for now.
The chance for any meaningful rain remains very low. The drought will continue to worsen this week.(WCTV)
