PORT ST. LUCIE – Tradition and Riverland residents will no longer have to travel to St. Lucie West for their home improvement needs. On Friday, June 5, Lowe’s welcomed hundreds to its new store on SW Village Parkway in the Tradition area.
Local elected officials, along with several hundred customers, walked through the doors of the new store to the beat of energetic music as DJs played both inside and outside the store. The energy was also displayed by the dozens of Lowe’s employees who were on hand to witness the “board cutting,” Lowe’s version of a ribbon cutting.
State Representative Toby Overdorff was excited to see the addition to the community.
“I think it’s a great asset for the region and now we have another opportunity for home improvement,” Overdorf said. “We have a tremendous amount of growth that is going to be going into Southern Grove and I think it’s well positioned to serve the residents of Port St. Lucie for many years to come.” Southern Grove is the business district located within the Tradition area.
Store Manager Jeff Beesing, who transferred from the St. Lucie West store, proudly gave checks to three charities they support, including Building Homes for Heroes, Care Bags and Sleep in Heavenly peace. “We do more than just sell products. We’re here to give great service and also make sure that we give back to the community we live in.”
Lowe’s opened their first store in Port St. Lucie in 2008. The store in Tradition will employ approximately 100 people when fully staffed.
The new store is located at 13845 SW Village Parkway in Port St. Lucie. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday. 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Contact them at (772) 295-6207.
