TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Things are taking shape at Market District Park.
Market District Tallahassee shared progress on the park project on social media, showing playground equipment and landscaping going in.
According to Blueprint, a joint city-county agency, the park will feature walking and biking paths, a children’s play area, pickleball courts, a shaded gathering space and more.
The park is expected to be completed next summer, according to the Market District’s post.
Work on Maclay Boulevard is still underway, but is set to be completed sooner than originally expected. The City of Tallahassee shared that Maclay Blvd is expected to open in late summer 2026.
The Market District project is divided into two phases, according to Blueprint. Phase 1 is the implementation of the Market District Park and Phase 2 will enhance pedestrian safety and connectivity.
Market District Park was planned in coordination with the City of Tallahassee’s Market District Multi-Purpose Stormwater Project.
