TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – St. George Island residents could be getting a new utility service under a law signed by Governor Ron DeSantis Monday.
The law allows the Eastpoint Water and Sewer District to take over utilities for St. George Island and more areas around Eastpoint.
The District is planning a town hall to discuss the possibility of acquiring the St. George Island Water Company.
It’s set for July 29 at at 5:15 at the St. George Island Fire Station on East Pine Avenue.
If the District does move to take over SCI utilities, it would then go to the ballot in November for voters to have the final say.
