STOCK ISLAND, Fla. (CBS12) — A woman suffered a punctured lung after being stabbed with a sword inside a Stock Island camper, where investigators say she was also held down and robbed. An attack that led to the arrest of four people.

The violent encounter unfolded on June 7 at a camper or trailer on 10th Avenue, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. By about 3:45 p.m., the victim arrived at Lower Keys Medical Center with the serious injury, which authorities said did not appear to be life-threatening as of Monday.

Investigators say the situation escalated quickly inside the camper. The victim told deputies that Marlon Albero Bernal Cabrera, 20, stabbed her during an altercation, while others in the group allegedly kept her from escaping. She said they held her down, hit her, or otherwise prevented her from leaving as the violence unfolded.

Despite the severity of the attack, deputies said the group eventually allowed the woman to change out of her bloodied clothes and leave to get medical help.

As detectives worked the case, they tracked down and arrested four suspects, all from Stock Island. Bernal Cabrera faces the most serious charges, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and kidnapping/false imprisonment.

Also arrested were Jasmine Elizabeth Jones, 29, and Zjiavon Deaute Green, 31, who are each charged with kidnapping/false imprisonment. A fourth suspect, Arlem Cristina Silva Cruz, 39, faces the same confinement charge, along with several drug-related charges.
