Jacksonville weather: Pop-up showers give way to sunny skies, with more heat on the horizon

Warm morning, quick showers expected

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Good morning from The Weather Authority team at News4JAX! I’m Katie Garner, here with a look at your Tuesday.

I noticed a few showers overnight, so if you woke up to some damp sidewalks, you’re not alone. Right now, it’s 73 degrees here in Jacksonville and 75 degrees along the coast. The air’s calm for now, but you might feel a slight breeze picking up later in the morning.

Let’s take a look at Exact Track 4D. We’ve got some light showers popping up off the Atlantic and sliding over our local beaches—nothing heavy, just weak shower activity that’s likely gone by noon. If you see raindrops this morning, just know they won’t stick around to ruin your plans.

Outdoor plans? Here’s what to expect

If you’re headed out to Jaguars mini camp at Miller Electric Center, temperatures start around 77 degrees at 8 a.m., with a swift climb to the low 80s by 10 a.m. It’ll feel warm fast, so stay hydrated and have fun!

Thinking about hitting the pool? It’s a great day for it once we move past those morning sprinkles. By 1 p.m., we reach 89 degrees, peak at 92 degrees around 3 p.m., and even at 5 p.m., it’ll still be near 90 degrees. Expect a sunny and breezy afternoon—perfect for swimming.

Looking ahead: Temperature rise possible

Tonight, conditions are forecast to be partly cloudy with temperatures dipping down to 74 degrees and a light northeast breeze around 4 mph.

What’s coming up next? I’ll be watching to see just how hot we’ll get as the week moves along, and whether we might break past 92 degrees—which is already well above average for this time of year. Substantial rain isn’t expected from today’s showers, but I’ll keep an eye on the pattern. I’ll also have your beach outlook as more information becomes available.
