A man is facing charges after the Port St.Lucie Police Department say he pointed a loaded handgun at another driver during a road rage incident in St. Lucie West.Stay up to date: The latest headlines and weather from WPBF 25According to the arrest report, the incident happened around 2:42 p.m. June 9 as the victim was driving east on St. Lucie West Boulevard after getting off I-95. Police say the driver of a yellow Chevrolet pickup truck began honking and driving aggressively before pulling alongside the victim at the intersection of Southwest Peacock Boulevard and St. Lucie West Boulevard.Investigators said when the victim lowered her window to try to understand what was happening, the suspect allegedly pulled out a handgun and pointed it at her. The victim, who was in the late stages of pregnancy, feared for her safety. The victim later gave police video footage that showed the suspect’s vehicle leaving the area, which helped officers track down the truck using its license plate. Officers identified the driver as 78-year-old Robert Kniceley and went to his home to continue the investigation. Police say he cooperated when confronted about the incident. During the investigation, officers recovered a loaded handgun from the home. Investigators said the gun had a round chambered and was ready to be fired.Based on the evidence, officers charged Kniceley with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to the arrest report, the incident happened around 2:42 p.m. June 9 as the victim was driving east on St. Lucie West Boulevard after getting off I-95.
