TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Leon County officials are looking for people who want to become sustainability experts.
The county launched its new Sustainability Ambassadors program, modeled after the Master Gardener program. It will train people on local topics like recycling, energy and transportation so they can bring that knowledge back to their neighborhoods.

Kate Lovett, sustainability manager for Leon County, said training runs from July 28 through Aug. 11.
“Success would just look like a ton of engagement. So, between friends, family, and neighbors… simple things like referring a family member to a donation center when they’re doing spring cleaning, or striking up a conversation with your neighbor about their recycling habits, or even taking one of your friends to a local farmer’s market for the first time,” Lovett said.
In-person and online sessions are available. For more information about how to sign up, visit their website.
