Another one of Tampa’s celebrated sandwich shops is getting its moment on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

Cousin Vinny’s Sandwich Co., a popular spot serving up chicken cutlets and other New York-inspired sandos that’s expanding to St. Petersburg, will appear on the Food Network TV show helmed by spiky-haired host Guy Fieri at 9 p.m. July 10.

The restaurant announced the news in an Instagram post Wednesday.

“Secrets out🤯😄 The one and only @guyfieri swung by for some cutlets!” Cousin Vinny’s wrote. “Catch us on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives July 10th, 9pm on the Food Network🔥🔥.”

The July 10 episode that’s set to feature the sandwich shop is titled “Hand to Mouth.” Here’s an excerpt from the description on Food Network’s website:

“This trip, Guy Fieri’s grabbin’ major flavor by the handful! First, a couple buddies are slingin’ iconic Italian sandwiches in Tampa with primo prosciutto, scratch-made schiacciata, and legit chicken parm.”

Cousin Vinny’s “Triple D” appearance comes on the heels of an episode featuring Tampa favorite Supernatural Food & Wine, which is Michelin Guide-recommended like Cousin Vinny’s.

A haven for breakfast and lunch sandwiches and sourdough doughnuts, Supernatural got all the praise from Fieri in its episode for that beloved doughnut, which he called “one of the best doughnuts I’ve ever had in my life.”

Of the Italian Stallion sandwich that Supernatural crafts on a toasted sesame ciabatta roll with dijonnaise, banana/roasted red pepper salad, salami, mortadella, capicola, pepperoni, provolone and fresh veggies, Fieri said: “That really is a sandwich worth waiting in line for.”

The Mayor of Flavortown clearly loves a sandwich. Who could blame him?

Tune in next month to see what he has to say about Cousin Vinny’s.
