TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – You are going to want to find ways to stay cool the rest of this week and into the weekend as temperatures climb into the mid-90s, but the humidity will make it feel extra uncomfortable.
Hot with a few showers:
Heat PLUS mid-summer-like humidity will make it feel closer to 105 over the next several days.
High pressure is keeping the rain showers and storms very hit or miss today. A few lucky spots are bringing cooling rain showers to North Florida and South Georgia. Most of us will be HOT and Humid through the afternoon and evening.
Tonight temperatures will not cool much, falling into the low to mid-70s. If you have A/C, fans will be needed.
Toasty end to the week:
Friday will be a favorable setup for temperatures to climb into the middle and upper 90s, as high pressure continues to sit over the southeast.
An isolated shower is not out of the question, but most will not get rain. More cloud cover in the afternoon, area-wide from a west/southwest wind.
If you are hoping to cool off in the waters, a rip current risk is high for the Franklin County beaches. For boaters, winds will gust up to 20 knots. Waves 2 feet or less.
Hot and muggy weekend:
Saturday morning will start warm and muggy in the mid-70s. Mostly to partly sunny before scattered rain will lead to highs in the upper 90s, but feeling like 105 to 110. If you are outside, be sure to take frequent breaks and stay hydrated.
On Sunday, high pressure starts to move out, bringing more clouds and a slightly higher chance of rain. Highs are still in the mid-90s and muggy.
Higher rain coverage next week:
Clouds with Scattered rain and a few thunderstorms and breezy next week. The higher rain chances and cloud cover will keep temperatures slightly less hot in the upper 80s, but still humid.
