World Cup transportation options in Broward, Miami-Dade

So you were lucky enough get a ticket to a World Cup match, but now, how do you get there?

Broward and Miami-Dade counties are both providing transportation options for fans to get to and from Hard Rock Stadium on game days. Among the usual choices like driving or using Rideshare services, shuttles and metro options will be available for the community if they want to dodge traffic and high parking costs.

Broward County Transit will partner with Miami-Dade Transit, Tri-Rail and Brightline to offer two low-cost Breeze routes and a fare-free Amerant Bank Arena express service.

The two Breeze routes will be $2 each way. One will pick up at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood and connect to Golden Glades Multimodal Transit Station for a stadium shuttle, and the other will pick up at BCT West Regional Terminal in Plantation. It will go to Calder Casino in Miami Gardens for another specific stadium shuttle.

The fare-free service is the Amerant Bank Arena Express, which will be completely free of charge with a match ticket. It will operate out of Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise directly to the stadium.

All routes are open to any ticket holders, but reservations are required in advance at bctsoccerfans.org/. BCT passes are available for those who want to use the system for multiple days, and service windows between Amerant Bank Arena and Miami Stadium will open four hours before game time and end three hours post-match.

Furthermore, parking at both BCT West Regional Terminal and Amerant Bank Arena is completely free.

The Miami Game Day Express Shuttle provides another great option for fans. Ticket holders can shuttle directly to Miami Stadium for each match, with free round-trip services between four transit hubs and the stadium. A spot on the shuttle will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the service will begin 3 1/2 hours before each match and run for several hours afterward.

The hubs include Martin Luther King, Jr. Plaza Metrorail Station (with no onsite parking), Golden Glades Multimodal Transit Station (with available paid parking), Aventura Brightline Station (with available paid parking through their website) and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (with a purchased parking pass).

Rideshare and taxi services are available at those hubs, but fans should note that Rideshare services are not permitted directly outside the stadium.

Fans can also get rides to and from Hard Rock Stadium with Uber Shuttle. Seats should be reserved in the Uber app, and tickets are $45 per person.

For soccer fans headed to Fan Fest at Bayfront Park instead of Hard Rock, there are some transportation options as well.

The county presents the free automated Metromover service for easy access, which connects Brickell, Downtown Miami and Omni areas. Services will be extended until midnight throughout Fan Fest and until 1 a.m. on June 23, 25, 27 and July 4.
