The U.S. Coast Guard and partner agencies will enforce a temporary security zone around Bayfront Park during Miami’s FIFA Fan Festival starting Saturday and through July 6.

The restricted area spans Biscayne Bay from Port Boulevard to the Miami River.

Patrols will ensure vessels move steadily through the zone without stopping unless in an emergency. Any vessel forced to stop must notify the Captain of the Port Miami on VHF‑FM channel 16.

“The Coast Guard is focused on safeguarding the public and maintaining a safe and secure maritime environment throughout the FIFA World Cup events,” said Capt. Frank Florio, commander, Coast Guard Sector Miami. “This effort is made possible through strong partnerships and close coordination with our maritime law enforcement partners.”

Boaters are urged to stay alert, monitor channel 16, and follow key safety practices such as avoiding alcohol while boating, wearing life jackets, checking weather conditions, filing a float plan, and ensuring safety gear is in working order.
