TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – It’s official, Florida’s election qualifying deadline has come and gone, allowing a look at the candidates who will be on the ballot, and some are already assured wins.
Races for two of local Florida House districts have already been decided.
Democrat Gallop Franklin ran without opposition in District 8, so he has won another term in the state house.

Meanwhile, Republican Jason Shoaf has been re-elected in Florida’s District 7. He, too, ran without opposition.

Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor was also re-elected without opposition. He’ll continue representing District 1.

He was first elected in 1996, which makes Proctor the longest-serving commissioner in Leon County history.
However, it remains a wide field for Tallahassee’s next mayor and for the city commission seat four.
Four candidates all met the qualifying deadline on Friday for mayor, including Loranne Ausley, Michael Foust, Jeremy Matlow and Daryl Parks. They will appear on Tallahassee’s ballots this fall.
