June 12, 2026 – Claiming injuries “resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement and mental anguish,” two Clearwater Ferry passengers have filed suit against Pinellas businessman Jeffry Knight, who was operating the private vessel that collided with the ferry in April 2025. Kaudri Buca and Xhevahire Rexhepic were aming the 48 people aboard the ferry; one person died. Knight is facing eight felony counts of leaving the scene of a boating accident involving death and/or serious bodily injury. His trial is scheduled to begin Feb. 1, 2027.
