TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Sunday will feature scorching temperatures and random, pop-up showers and storms during the afternoon and evening. Meteorologist Cameron Aaron has the latest.
Tonight Through Sunday Night
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible for Saturday evening, but we are anticipating a drying trend after sunset. For most of us, we remain dry and muggy for the overnight. Low temperatures settle in the mid-70s.
A “copy and paste” forecast is on the way for Sunday. The first half of the day is looking dry and hot. Highs climb into the mid-90s under a mix of Sun and clouds. With the muggy weather, we could see heat index values in the low-100s at times, so be sure to stay cool and hydrated.
During the afternoon and evening, we are expecting another round of random, pop-up showers and storms. Similar to Saturday, it will not rain for everyone, but scattered showers and storms are possible.
The activity should fizzle for Sunday night, and we are mainly dry and mild for the overnight. Lows fall into the mid-70s under a mostly clear sky.
Starting The Work Week
Going into the new work week, we are expecting higher rain chances and lower heat levels.
Scattered showers and storms are possible on Monday under a partly sunny sky. Highs top out in the low-90s, with lows in the mid-70s.
Periods of showers and storms will linger into Tuesday. Because of the clouds and showers, highs should stay in the upper-80s. Lows bottom out in the mid-70s.
Scattered rain chances stick around for the middle of the week. Highs on Wednesday hover in the upper-80s under a partly sunny sky. Lows fall into the mid-70s.
Extended Forecast
The weather pattern is looking more typical for summer as we close out the week.
We are tracking those random, pop-up showers and storms during the peak heating of the day on Thursday and Friday.
Temperatures reach the low-90s under a mix of Sun and clouds.
Overnight lows dip into the mid-70s.
