Heat advisory issued again for your Sunday for Tallahassee, the Big Bend and South Georgia

  • June 14, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory that goes into effect at noon and lasts until 6 p.m. for dangerous heat this afternoon.

Feels-like temperatures in the triple digits will make for dangerous heat this afternoon.Feels-like temperatures in the triple digits will make for dangerous heat this afternoon.(WCTV)Still Feeling like triple digits:

As you get ready for your Sunday morning routine, it is another very humid start with temperatures in the mid-70s. The earlier you do the outdoor activities, the better.

Another great pool day since it will quickly get uncomfortable late this morning with mostly sunny skies. Feels like temperatures will reach the upper 90s by lunch. Very hot this afternoon reaching the mid-90s, feeling like 100 to 110.

Another good day to enjoy the pool, but plan to head indoors in case storms roll in to your area.Another good day to enjoy the pool, but plan to head indoors in case storms roll in to your area.(WCTV)

For folks heading to the beach and hitting the waters, the weather should cooperate again today. A few late morning early afternoon showers, but most should be north of highway 98, just inland.

Scattered rain and storms this afternoon.Scattered rain and storms this afternoon.(WCTV)

Waves 2 to 3 feet from westerly winds 10 to 20 knots. Moderate chop on the protected waters.

A good breeze along St. George Island this afternoon. Good beach and boating conditions.A good breeze along St. George Island this afternoon. Good beach and boating conditions.(WCTV)Rain likely this week:

Tropical moisture will continue to feed into the southeast from the Gulf. This will give the area a good chance of rain beginning Monday afternoon. On and off showers and storms with mostly cloudy skies Tuesday and Wednesday. The unsettled weather should keep highs in the upper 80s, BUT it will still be very humid each afternoon, so don’t let the lack of sunshine fool you.

Rain chances peak midweek as tropical moisture meets with a slow-moving cold front.Rain chances peak midweek as tropical moisture meets with a slow-moving cold front.(WCTV)

Rain looks most likely between Tuesday and Wednesday as a weak front approaches from the north. The front will NOT move through, keeping scattered rain chances around through the end of next week. Highs slowly climb back into the 90s.

Tracking the tropics:

The National Hurricane Center is tracking an area of showers and thunderstorms in the Western Gulf. The disorganized cluster has a 20% chance of becoming more organized over the next 7 days. This is NOT something that is going to become an organized tropical system that will bring significant impacts to our area.

A 20% chance of tropical development in the next 7 days.A 20% chance of tropical development in the next 7 days.(WCTV)

The chance looks low, but DEEP tropical moisture will feed north along the Gulf coast, meeting with the front.
