TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – We’re in the second half of the season for our local summer soccer teams, so now seemed as good a time as ever to take a look at where the teams stand to this point and what the rest of their season’s look like.
Tallahassee Soccer Club-
Tallahassee SC sits in a great spot with just three games to go in the season. The Battle Lions are tied with PSC Panama City Beach FC for first place in the East Division. Pensacola FC is also within striking distance of a playoff berth.
The top two teams from the East will face off in the first round of the playoffs. The winner will play which ever team comes out of the Gulf Coast West Division.
Valdosta Football Club-
In just their second season, Valdosta FC is still building and growing towards their eventual goal of making the playoffs.
They sit in fourth place out of five teams in the Gulf Coast East standings. They have two wins, plus an impressive 0-0 draw against PSC Panama City Beach.
The Valdosta FC UPSL team lost 3-1 on Sunday night against Coastal Kings FC II in the first round of the playoffs to end their season.
The women’s team, in their first season, are still looking for win number one. They have three games remaining to get it.
Tallahassee Reckoning-
The Tallahassee reckoning are 3-2-1 this season… Having played some great soccer. But on Friday, facing a Brevard team they were tied with, the Reckoning lost after a late goal.
Only one team makes the playoffs from the Southeast division. The reckoning sit in third place, but just four points back of first. They have four games remaining.
