Police investigating fatal crash on Fowler Ave. in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa Police Department said it is investigating a fatal crash that happened Sunday morning.

It happened at the 2800 block of Fowler Avenue between 22nd Street and 30th Street, and police said they responded to the scene at around 9:20 a.m. Officers arrived to find a deceased man, and while they attempted life-saving measures, the victim ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Drivers were asked to find alternate routes as all westbound lanes were closed on that stretch of Fowler Avenue for a few hours.

TPD did not provide any additional information on the circumstances of the crash or the identity of the victim.
