Florida Forest Service and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews were responding to a large brush fire in western Miami-Dade on Monday that was causing power outages and the evacuation of a nearby business, officials said.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said crews responded to the fire in the area of Northwest 137th Avenue and Northwest 25th Street shortly before 3 p.m.
Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed a large amount of smoke rising into the air from the scene as flames consumed multiple acres.
One section was burning near a group of power lines.

Crews were responding to a large brush fire in western Miami-Dade on Monday, officials said.
Officials said the fire was upgraded to a third alarm as crews worked to protect “nearby possible exposures.”
Air Rescue crews were also performing water drops, officials said. A nearby business was evacuated as a precaution.
Officials said there were no reported injuries but people with respiratory conditions in the area were advised to stay indoors and recirculate the air from their air conditioners.
Crews will remain at the scene overnight to monitor conditions and work to prevent the fire from spreading.

Doral Police said the brush fire caused power outages and that as a result, traffic signals weren’t functioning at Northwest 107th Avenue and Northwest 41st Street and Northwest 102nd Avenue and Northwest 41st Street.
“Officers are on-site directing traffic to help maintain the safe flow of traffic. Motorists should use caution, expect delays, and consider alternate routes if possible,” police said in a social media post.
No other details were immediately known.
