PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — Safety Harbor is moving its 4th of July fireworks show back to Waterfront Park

The show was moved to City Park because of ongoing construction at Waterfront Park after the 2024 hurricanes. But people pushed back because they were concerned about nesting birds in the area.

During a City Commission meeting Monday night, Safety Harbor Mayor Joe Ayoud said he is confident those concerns have been worked out.

“We got a lot of pushback and I just want to commend staff for taking that feedback into account,” Ayoub said. “And being very responsive. And coming up with a plan to balance the needs and desires of the residents and putting on a good show.”

The event will be a fireworks only show beginning at 9 p.m.

Due to space limitations, there will be no vendors this year, and attendees are encouraged to bring refreshments as options may be limited.
