Florida State’s running back room, replacing its top two rushers from last season, could be one of the most exciting, talented position groups on the roster.
Tre Wisner came to Tallahassee from Texas as one of FSU’s most heralded pickups of the offseason, joining returning sophomore Ousmane Kromah to form the Seminoles’ new 1-2 punch, while head coach Mike Norvell brought in up-and-coming running backs coach Kam Martin from Tulsa after David Johnson took a job at Arkansas.
If the Seminoles are going to be competitive on offense this year, Wisner and Kromah will be a major part of it.

2025 lookback: As with most of the 2025 season, the running back room and the rushing game as a whole were a bit of a mixed bag. Florida State ranked 11th in the country a season ago in rushing yards per game, with over 200, but as the year went on, it became clear those were empty calories. Fumbles became synonymous with the running game, and FSU struggled to run the ball in between the tackles, especially when they needed to down in the red zone. In 2026, the Seminoles will need a more consistent rushing attack and not rely solely on gadget plays and explosive runs.
