JACKSONVILLE – The offseason isn’t done yet, but it’s close.
With that as a backdrop, Head Coach Liam Coen and quarterback Trevor Lawrence on Monday discussed the Jaguars’ 2026 offseason program – the final days of which are being held at the Miller Electric Center this week.
Progress has been made and motivation has been high.
“This team understands there was meat left on the bone,” Coen said.
Coen spoke to the media Monday following the first practice of the final week of ’26 organized team activities. It’s a somewhat lighter week than the first few of this year’s offseason program, with emphasis on passing. Lawrence also spoke Monday, and said the Jaguars indeed have progressed during their second offseason season under Coen.
Jaguars went 13-4 with an AFC South title in 2025, with a major theme of the ’26 offseason program looking forward rather than back.
“We’ve really attacked the offseason,” Lawrence said, with Coen adding that the way “they’ve attacked this offseason is representative of that hunger and wanting to try to put ourselves in the best position to go earn those ops next year.”
Multiple players stayed on the field after Monday’s voluntary practice, working with coaches.
“It has become a standard,” Coen said. “It has become something that we don’t have to ask them to do anymore. We don’t have to necessarily encourage it. They’re doing it and they’re taking the time out of there, rest and recovery, to go get some extra reps. That’s important.”
This week’s final OTAs, like last week’s minicamp, are unpadded and can feature competitive 11-on-11 and 7-on-7 work. Unlike last week’s minicamp, they are voluntary and will feature multiple former NFL and Jaguars players speaking to – and working – with current players.
