The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a deadly head-on vehicle collision near the Highlands County–Okeechobee County line.At 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, FHP received information about an incident on State Road 70 eastbound in eastern Highlands County.According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release on Tuesday night, a 2016 Ford Explorer driven by a 41-year-old man from Lorida was traveling west on State Road 70, west of Northwest New Pine Ridge Road.A 2005 Dodge Ram driven by a 69-year-old man from Port St. Lucie was traveling east on State Road 70.According to the FHP report, the Ford crossed the centerline and the left front of the Ford collided with the left front of the Dodge.The drivers of each vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. At 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, FHP received information about an incident on State Road 70 eastbound in eastern Highlands County.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release on Tuesday night, a 2016 Ford Explorer driven by a 41-year-old man from Lorida was traveling west on State Road 70, west of Northwest New Pine Ridge Road.
A 2005 Dodge Ram driven by a 69-year-old man from Port St. Lucie was traveling east on State Road 70.
