• I’m ticked off about all this soccer hype! I’d rather cut grass than watch a boring 1-0 soccer game. I used to coach it and I understand the game. Make the goal larger and have 10-15 goals per game. Then I might watch. When I grew up, kids played soccer because they wouldn’t play football.
• The way Orlando mismanages issues like the Pulse tragedy and the tourist tax allotment, it will always remain a “small town” with a large, frustrated population!
• While I normally sing high praises of the Lake Nona VA, I am ticked off at their ER department. I took my 84-year-old husband there while experiencing severe cold symptoms. They apparently triaged him to the bottom of the list, as I saw many come in after us and leave before us. After 3½ hours, we told them we were going to another hospital. We did, were seen in minutes and diagnosed with pneumonia and sepsis. Thanks for nothing, VA.
The flip side
• As someone who keeps skeletons on display year-round, I have found that our neighbors, especially the children, truly enjoy them. During COVID-19, we even received several thank-you cards for providing some levity during people’s walks. Most residents in our community seem to appreciate this kind of quirky fun. Perhaps those who are upset by personal yard decorations would be more comfortable in an area with a homeowners association, where they can enforce uniformity, instead of a downtown neighborhood that allows creativity and fun.
