TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A star-studded and musically diverse lineup has been unveiled for the 2026-2027 Opening Nights at FSU.
Academy, Emmy and Grammy Award winner Common is bringing his best hits for Opening Nights at FSU. Six-time Tony Award winner and Broadway star Audra McDonald is among the lineup, as is Tony and Grammy Award winner Leslie Odom Jr. Jazz legend Wynton Marsalis is also taking the stage.
Folk singer-songwriters Drew & Ellie Holcomb are the season openers at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall in September.
Common is set to perform Nov. 14 with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra at the Adderley Amphitheater. Odom Jr., known for his performance as Aaron Burr in the Broadway hit Hamilton, is also performing with the local orchestra at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall on March 6.

McDonald is performing ‘Audra Goes Hollywood’ on Feb. 25. Marsalis is performing ‘Jazz at Lincoln Center’ on Jan. 28 for his last appearance with the ensemble at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall.
Kevin Maynard, executive director of Opening Nights, said every performance is storytelling.
“This season, we’ve brought together storytellers at the height of their craft, voices that carry us into cultures we might never otherwise encounter, and brand-new work being told aloud for the very first time. These are stories worth telling,” Maynard said.
