There’s a whole ass new cafe in Tampa Heights, and there’s free parking, too.
opened inside —located at 815 E 7th Ave. on the literal edge of Ybor City—this month.
From 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday-Sunday, the concept serves cafe staples, a trio of specialties (go for the coquito latte), and a limited menu that includes a breakfast burrito ($12) and a hangover burger ($15). Plant based options are available.
Best of the Bay-winning barista Eileen Ramos also probably makes the most balanced cortado in Tampa Bay (at Double Six, it’s served in a 4-oz. chalice, making for a little extra indulgence).
Parking at the cafe—which is located on the literal border of Ybor City and Tampa Heights—is free inside the white fence on the north side of 7th Avenue facing The Commodore comedy theater.
The 1,200-square-foot La Sétima opened to much fanfare in 2022 as a natural wine bar proudly pouring offerings with zero additives or preservatives. Its happy hour is one of the best values in the Bay area, too, giving a group of four an easy opportunity to get wine drunk and eat extremely well for less than $100.
Before opening, La Sétima owners—including Coral Carrasquillo and Ryan Fouche—had already made a reputation in the natural wine space from their time at Seminole Heights’ Jug & Bottle. Carrasquillo was influenced to start her own all-natural wine bar featuring a plant-based kitchen and a variety of wine and beers.
Fouche told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that La Sétima had tried a test run on the cafe concept over the last year but fully-committed with Double Six.
“We went in with our whole ass,” he said, adding that the restaurant is also developing its cocktail program. “So far, it’s working out.”
