The city of Tampa is offering free Jolley Trolley service to help residents and visitors travel to and from its Fourth of July celebration, Liberty by the Bay, set for Saturday, July 4.
The waterfront event, marking America’s 250th anniversary, will run from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, ending with a 250-drone light show and fireworks display over the Hillsborough River.
To reduce congestion, three Jolley Trolley shuttles will operate continuously from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., making stops at key downtown locations. Stops include the Marion Transit Center, Fort Brooke Garage, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park.
City officials are encouraging attendees to plan ahead and explore multiple transportation options. In addition to the free trolley service, visitors can use downtown parking garages, though on-site parking at the park will be limited. ADA parking will be available at designated nearby locations.
The city is also urging guests to consider taking the free TECO Line Streetcar, which connects downtown and Ybor City, or to use rideshare services.
Officials say the combined options aim to make transportation easier during one of Tampa’s largest Independence Day celebrations.
