THE HEAT INDEX, JUST SO WE’RE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE. IT’S A FANCY MATH EQUATION THAT TAKES THE AIR TEMPERATURE, ADDS IN THE MOISTURE, AND GIVES US THE FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURE. SO HERE’S THE NUMBERS. THIS IS WHAT THE COMPUTERS EQUATING. OBVIOUSLY I’M NOT GOING TO READ THAT FORMULA, BUT JUST SO THAT, YOU KNOW, I MEAN, THERE’S A LOT OF DATA THAT GOES INTO THIS. SO IT REALLY IS A REAL THING. SO HEAT ADVISORIES ARE POSTED BECAUSE ALL OF US ARE RUNNING THOSE FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES ANYWHERE FROM 105 TO 110 DEGREES. THE GOOD NEWS TODAY IS THAT WE HAVE AN INCREASING COVERAGE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSHOWERS. SO LET’S LOOK AT THE SEVEN DAY FORECAST TOGETHER TODAY 96 THE ACTUAL TEMPERATURE. Heat index values will soar into the 105° to 110° range across the region, peaking around 4 p.m.However, rain chances are expected to increase to around 60%, which could provide some relief from the heat. Central Florida is under a heat advisory as feels-like temperatures climb to dangerous levels on Thursday.
Heat index values will soar into the 105° to 110° range across the region, peaking around 4 p.m.
However, rain chances are expected to increase to around 60%, which could provide some relief from the heat. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop west of the area around 2 p.m. and move east through the afternoon, helping bring temperatures down.
