  • June 18, 2026

A man charged with DUI manslaughter in a Jacksonville Beach crash last year has pleaded guilty and was sentenced to prison time.

Robin McAlarney, a former Columbia County, Georgia, resident, was sentenced to 11 years in prison, followed by two years of probation.

McAlarney will also be required to attend DUI school, and his license has been revoked for life.

McAlarney was caught in Philadelphia in October 2025, months after the May 17, 2025, deadly crash near Third Street South and St. Augustine Boulevard.

According to the U.S. Marshals in Philadelphia, McAlarney was under the influence when he was riding on a motorcycle with a 22-year-old woman, identified as Tara Shaw.

Officials said McAlarney was driving 90 mph and crashed, killing Shaw.
