After increasing 5.5 cents over the last week, the average price of a gallon of gas in Miami now stands at right under 3 per gallon ($2.99), but how does that compare to 10 years ago?
That’s 7.9 cents lower than a month ago and 2.7 cents cheaper than a year ago. And while Magic City drivers may not like the prices, you’d have to go back to the pandemic year of 2020 to find a cheaper average.
Here’s how Miami gas prices have compared over the past decade:
– Nov. 3, 2024: $3.02 per gallon
– Nov. 3, 2023: $3.24
– Nov. 3, 2022: $3.39
– Nov. 3, 2021: $3.32
– Nov. 3, 2020: $2.06
– Nov. 3, 2019: $2.46
– Nov. 3, 2018: $2.71
– Nov. 3, 2017: $2.51
– Nov. 3, 2016: $2.31
– Nov. 3, 2015: $2.21
According to GasBuddy’s survey of 1,690 Miami stations, the cheapest gas in the Metro area Sunday was $2.57 per gallon. Meanwhile, Key Biscayne drivers continue to pay some of the highest prices in Miami-Dade, with both Island stations charging $4.49 per gallon.
