TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The City of Tampa is activating cooling stations on Friday as temperatures continue to climb in the Tampa Bay area.

Cooling stations will operate from 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. at the following locations:

Barksdale Adult Activity Center – 1801 N. Lincoln Avenue, Tampa, FL 33607

George Bartholomew Center – 8608 N. 12th Street, Tampa, FL 33604

Ragan Park Center — 1200 E Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33605

Kate Jackson Community Center — 821 S Rome Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606

According to city officials, the stations will be open to all residents, especially those without access to air conditioning, and offer a safe, air-conditioned space to cool down.

The city urged residents to take precautions as the summer heat reaches extreme levels and seek relief at the cooling stations if needed.
