A Port St. Lucie man was arrested after police say he was caught driving at an extremely high speed on the Crosstown Parkway Bridge. As they tried to catch up, the driver sped up and was clocked going about 100 mph. Police identified the driver as 25-year-old Tyreek Russell. He told officers he was speeding because he was late for work and thought it was okay since he was in an open lane. Under Florida law, driving 50 mph or more over the speed limit is considered a criminal offense. Russell was arrested and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail. His vehicle was also towed from the scene.
