This is “Small Bites,” a South Florida Sun Sentinel feature with tiny tidbits on the food and beverage scene — because we know that sometimes you just don’t have room for a long article. You want a little news brief instead, an amuse bouche of information, if you will. Enjoy!
WHAT: If pairing sunsets with music, good eats and a scenic sail appeals to you, a new Intracoastal experience awaits, courtesy of Shooters Waterfront and the Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi.
On Friday evenings, the Sunset Music Cruise starts with happy hour at Shooters — in the VIP section of the patio, of course — where you get half-off well liquor, wine by the glass and beer. There’s also an extended happy hour menu.
Then for dinner, the SoFlo feast of coastal favorites includes dishes for purchase such as guava-chili chicken wings, smoked fish dip, coconut shrimp and flatbreads.
Aboard the Water Taxi, the voyage — part of its Signature Cruise Series — starts with a Champagne toast as you take in the sunset views, waterfront mansions, mega yachts and historic landmarks along the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale, the “Venice of America.” There’s also a cash bar.

You also get a $10-off coupon to use post-cruise at Shooters Waterfront for cocktails and late-night bites while you enjoy the skyline views back at the dock.
WHEN: Every Friday, with 5 p.m. happy hour/dinner and 7 p.m. Water Taxi departure
WHERE: Shooters Waterfront, 3033 NE 32nd Ave., Fort Lauderdale
COST: $54 a person

• The Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi also recently launched their Premier Sightseeing Cruise, a 90-minute narrated tour through Fort Lauderdale’s Intracoastal departing three times a day from Las Olas Landing.
