Elevated bacteria levels prompt water quality advisory at Sanibel Causeway

The Florida Department of Health in Lee County has issued a water quality advisory on Thursday at the Sanibel Causeway.DOH-Lee said tests completed on Wednesday indicate that the water quality at the Sanibel Causeway does not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria.Officials are advising against water-related activities there due to an increased risk for illness in swimmers.
