The 5-2 victory for the Rays on Friday was a great way to open a 10-game homestand. Jonathan Aranda hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the third for the Rays to help Tampa Bay come back from a 2-0 deficit. The Nationals got on the board first when CJ Abrams hit a solo shot in the second for the first run of the game. Luis Garcia Jr. came right back in the third to hit another homer, but Washington couldn’t score the rest of the game, being limited to just six hits the whole night. Tampa starter Griffin Jax settled down from there to earn just his second win of the season after going five innings while giving up two runs on four hits, while striking out five. Miles Mikolas fell to 2-6 after going six innings while giving up five runs on nine hits. Taylor Walls hit an RBI single in the fourth, and Jonny DeLuca hit another homer to provide some insurance for the Rays.
