Just a few weeks after he committed to Florida State, Port Charlotte quarterback Logan Flaherty has become a regular visitor to the Seminoles’ campus.
He was at FSU last week for Mike Norvell’s Elite Camp, he returned this weekend for his own official visit, and he plans to return in the coming weeks to help Florida State recruit other top targets.
“Every recruit that they’re trying to get, I’m texting and I’m getting on them,” Flaherty said.
Flaherty, who committed to FSU after a battle with Rutgers and others, said two recruits have been high on his radar since he gave his pledge to the Seminoles: Georgia wide receiver Sean Green and Louisiana running back Jayden Miles.
Miles took his official visit to Florida State last week, and Green is in Tallahassee this weekend with Flaherty and several other recruits.
“There’s a few tight ends that I’ve been contacting with, but those are like the two big guys right here that I’m constantly texting on Instagram like, ‘Hey let’s get this thing done. Make sure we’re locked in and ready to go.’”
Since his official visit, Miles has started trending to Florida State, with an RPM pick being placed this week by Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman. The Seminoles still have to survive his official visit to Ohio State this weekend, but they appear to be on strong footing.
Green is deciding between Georgia and FSU, and the Seminoles are hoping his weekend in Tallahassee — with Flaherty also on campus — will put them over the top.
Becoming a key factor in Florida State’s recruiting efforts was exactly what the quarterback hoped would happen when he committed in May.
“I’m excited … Florida State’s my dream school, and you know there’s been a lot of outside noise recently about Florida State, and I’m ready to kind of shut that down,” Flaherty said. “Coach Norvell, they’re going to handle business on the field this year, and me personally, I want to [help] on the recruiting side of things and build a class around me and get things back to where Florida State football needs to be.”
