Florida State will look to gain another commitment today — from three-star WR Majay Thompson — as he will decide between the Seminoles, Georgia, Alabama and Wake Forest.
Florida State secured the last official visit for Thompson last weekend; it was clear he was a priority for FSU going into the weekend.
According to Rivals’ Chad Simmons, Alabama has quietly dropped out. There has also not been much buzz with Georgia.
From talking to sources, going into Thursday afternoon Thompson had still not made an official decision, but it was clear it would be coming soon. At that point, the Seminoles were still in the thick of it and still felt like the lean.
“The feeling I had at the school and the relationships with the coaching staff, that’s really what helped me narrow everything down,” Thompson told Simmons. “And that will be what helps me pick the right school.”
Ahead of his visit to Tallahassee, Thompson wanted some questions answered regarding coaching stability. Coming out of the trip, he felt like he got the answers he needed.
“What could happen if the season were to go bad,” Thompson explained. “But all in all, Coach [Mike Norvell], he’s got some more years, you know. Coach [Tim] Harris, he got an extension because he’s the offensive coordinator. So, all in all, everything is good.”
What was also interesting after the visit was where the Seminoles were NIL-wise for the receiver.
“I heard that it’s probably gonna be one of my highest numbers,” Thompson said of the Florida State offer. “But at the end of the day, it’s not really all about numbers. It’s about where I feel most comfortable.”
Thompson will announce his decision at 3 p.m. ET today.
As of now, the prediction here is the Seminoles will get good news.
