Recently, the Rusty Pelican’s ballroom was overtaken by more than 100 women, and three gentlemen, to play an afternoon of charity bingo for a great cause. The event was hosted by The Colombian Volunteer Ladies (CVL Miami)
Founded in 1968, CVL Miami is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting elderly adults and children in need in Colombia through charitable and community initiatives. Proceeds from this year’s event benefitted two organizations in Colombia:
1. Hogar Ángeles Custodios, an organization providing shelter, care, education and emotional support to vulnerable children and families, helping create brighter futures and better opportunities. Learn more at @hogarangelescustodios
2. Casa San José, a nonprofit home in Cali, Colombia, dedicated to caring for vulnerable elderly adults by providing housing, meals, healthcare, and companionship. The organization also supports children and families through school supplies, scholarships, and educational assistance programs. Learn more at @casadesanjosecali
Besides rapid-fire bingo playing, the afternoon featured raffles and prizes including cash prizes, and many products and services generously donated by sponsors.
