PSTA set to announce ferry boats for revamped service

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority is set to announce the purchase of two boats for its revamped ferry service.

In April, Tampa and Pinellas County officials approved the new Tampa Bay Ferry service, agreeing on $4.8 million to purchase and renovate two boats. 

The previous ferry service ended In April 2025. The previous Cross Bay Ferry operated with only one boat, which prevented it from running seven days a week. 

The new service is expected to operate all week long and throughout the year, connecting the Tampa and St. Petersburg downtowns. The operator for the new service will be Hubbard’s Marina.
