THE CITY OF CAPE CORAL CONFIRMED WITH GULF COAST NEWS THAT SATURDAY, A WATER MAIN BREAK LED TO A BOIL WATER ADVISORY FOR PROPERTIES IN THE SOUTHEAST. 20TH COURT AREA. AND OF COURSE, WE PUT OUR HEADS AROUND THE CORNER AND WE SAW THAT THEY’RE WORKING ON THE STREETS. Southeast Cape Coral residents navigate boil water notice after weekend water main break

A water main break on Saturday in the Southeast 20th Court area of Cape Coral has resulted in a boil water notice, leaving residents taking extra precautions. Wes Brown, a neighbor in the affected area, said, “Public health is really important to us. So we went to Costco this morning, stocked up on a bunch of water. So that we’re ready to go for, you know, how long this lasts for?” The city of Cape Coral confirmed the notice, which has left residents finding ways to stay safe and hydrated in the heat. Evan Milman, another neighbor, said, “It was Father’s Day, not the best convenient timing-wise, but we made the best. We have finally, it didn’t hinder us too badly.” Some residents said they were notified by the city through calls or emails, while others, like Milman, learned about the advisory through neighbors and signs posted in the area. “The only way we learned about it was just by having to turn the faucets on and seeing that the water wasn’t working. And then when, of course, we picked our heads around the corner, and we saw that they’re working on the street,” Milman said. Residents reported brown water running from their faucets after the main break. The city has advised allowing water to run through faucets until it clears up. While the advisory is in effect, the city recommends boiling all water used for laundry, cooking, washing hands, brushing teeth, and other household activities.
