CLEVELAND (WKBN) – Cleveland-based Orlando Baking Company is inviting Schwebel’s workers, who will be laid off soon, to apply for jobs with them.

Orlando announced Monday that it wants Schwebel’s workers to know that there are opportunities at Orlando Baking “where their experience, skills and commitment will be valued,” the notice read.

Orlando is hiring experienced workers in production, maintenance, sanitation, warehouse operations and leadership at its Cleveland-area facilities.

Orlando is a union bakery, as is Schwebel’s.

Orlando Baking Company services retail, foodservice and wholesale customers throughout the region. Its main production facility is on Grand Avenue in Cleveland with distribution centers across Ohio.

Schwebel’s plans to permanently lay off 673 workers statewide between July 6 and Labor Day as it winds down operations this summer at its Youngstown plant.
