TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Two men found guilty in a shootout outside Halftime Liquors back in October 2022 were sentenced on several charges on Tuesday.
Joseph Walker and Tamylon Williams were acquitted of murder charges in May, but were found guilty of other charges related to the deadly shooting.
Williams was sentenced to a maximum possible sentence of 30 years in prison for his role in the deadly gun battle outside the liquor store.
Walker was sentenced to a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison for attempted manslaughter. The judge pointed out that Walker had just been released from prison less than 30 days before the deadly shooting occurred.
Innocent bystander Demario Murray was shot and killed when gunfire rang out in the crowded parking lot outside Halftime Liquors in October 2022. Eight others were shot, but survived.
Both men were facing second-degree murder charges. Court records show the jury found Williams guilty of attempted second-degree murder, while Walker was found guilty of attempted manslaughter. Both Walker and Williams were found guilty of improper exhibition of a firearm.
Williams and Walker are the latest to be sentenced in the deadly shootout.
Court records show William Thomas was sentenced to four years in prison for possession of a machine gun and De’Arius Cannon is serving 13 years in prison for attempted manslaughter and improper exhibition of a firearm.
