SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A man wanted on warrants from multiple jurisdictions was arrested after years of avoiding law enforcement, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said Everaldo Alvarez Borqueno, 35, was arrested June 18 by members of HCSO’s Auto Theft Unit.

Authorities said Alvarez Borqueno had a history of fleeing law enforcement. During previous encounters, HCSO said he drove at high speeds on public roads, rammed patrol vehicles and endangered deputies and members of the community.

Detectives also learned Alvarez Borqueno had previously fled from Hernando County deputies during an attempted arrest, according to HCSO.
Sheriff Chad Chronister said the arrest was the result of years of work by law enforcement agencies.
“Time and again, this suspect chose to put the public at risk rather than face the consequences of his actions,” Chronister said. “Those who believe they can evade justice by running only delay the inevitable. We will find you. Whether it takes days, months, or years, we will continue to pursue those who threaten the safety of our community and bring them to justice.”
HCSO said Alvarez Borqueno faces several felony charges spanning multiple years. Those charges include burglary, grand theft auto, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, criminal mischief, vehicle theft-related offenses, driving with a suspended or revoked license and multiple violations of probation.
The sheriff’s office said video released with the announcement includes images from a 2024 incident in which Alvarez Borqueno fled from deputies while driving an orange Corvette.
HCSO said a second clip shows body-worn camera footage from a separate 2025 incident in which he again evaded law enforcement.
The final portion of the video shows his June 18 arrest by HCSO Auto Theft Unit detectives, according to the sheriff’s office.
HCSO said the case remains an active investigation.
