‘A beautiful new facility’: Murray Middle School renovation plans in Stuart come into focus

The Martin County School District is updating the community on a major renovation project at Murray Middle School in Stuart.The project includes a new administration and media center building, gym renovations, parking lot improvements, and changes to the drop-off and pick-up area.Officials said the plans also include the demolition of Buildings 9,10 and 18, which sustained severe damage during Hurricane Milton in October 2024, when an EF-1 tornado ripped through the campus.”They were pretty badly damaged during the tornado, much like all the devastation that our whole community saw during that incident,” Kirstie Germaine, Coordinator of Public Information and Community Relations with the Martin County School District, said.The hardest-hit areas included the band, chorus, and agriculture rooms.
