Hot, humid temperatures and afternoon lightning storms expected – Orlando Sentinel

Heat, humidity and a touch of lightning are all in store for Central Florida.

Temperatures are in the mid-90s across the region, with heat index values at 100 to 105 degrees, according to NWS Melbourne.

Skies will be partly sunny with winds blowing west at 5 to 10 mph.

Shower and thunderstorm chances are at 60 percent and expected to hit the area after 5 p.m.

During the evening hours, there’s a slight chance of thunderstorms after 11 p.m., according to NWS Melbourne.

Skies will be mostly cloudy before eventually becoming clear.

Temperatures will be in the mid-70s.
