Trevor Mallory is building financial momentum in the crowded race for St. Petersburg City Council District 6, leading the field in both fundraising for the most recent quarter and remaining cash on hand.
Mallory, who filed Feb. 17 for the race to replace term-limited Council Member Gina Driscoll, raised $11,800 from April 1 through June 12, more than any other candidate in the District 6 contest during that period.
Meanwhile, Doug Homeyer raised over $10,000, Terri Balliet raised over $4,200, Linsey Grove raised just under $4,000 and Jameka Williams raised less than $2,200 during the same period.
Mallory has now raised nearly $32,000 overall and reports just over $18,000 cash on hand, giving him the largest remaining campaign balance in the field following the most recent campaign finance filings.
Balliet remains the race’s overall fundraising leader, with more than $46,000 raised. But she has also spent more than $31,000 — leaving her with just over $15,000 cash on hand. Grove reported just under $12,000 on hand, followed by Homeyer with more than $7,000 and Williams with about $3,000.
Mallory is President of Neighborhood Home Solutions. A Lakewood High School graduate, Mallory was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays after graduation before returning to St. Petersburg. He later worked as a horticulture specialist for the city’s Parks Department, and served on city boards including the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and Citizen Redistricting Commission.
He is also a father of four and youth mentor. He began coaching tee ball in 2019 and serves as President of the local Little League.
Mallory has also received a series of endorsements from Gulfport City Council Members Nancy Earley and Jennifer Daunch, former Gulfport City Council Member April Thanos and former St. Petersburg City Council Member Karl Nurse, who previously represented District 6.
Mallory has also been endorsed by community leaders, including Dr. Basha Jordan, Torrie Jasuwan, Armando Grundy-Gomes, Pastor Manuel Sykes and Pastor G. Gregg Murray.
