June 24, 2026 – Work has commenced on the new West Tampa recreation center, according to the City of Tampa’s website. The complex, which will be built on the site of the Rey Park Center, will feature amenities including a community center, playground, basketball court, open play lawn and event stage and outdoor fitness area.
